Who should use beard oils?
Every man who wants cleaner, softer skin. Any man who wants to moisturize his beard and encourage facial hair growth.
What should I look for in a quality beard oil?
A product that contains all natural oils and organic, when possible. Beard oils are made up of carrier oils and essential oils. The carrier oils are used to dilute the essential oils for application purposes (same premise as massage therapy oils). Each carrier oil has different properties and health benefits therefore you want a beard oil that will help you achieve your desired beard status. As a result you will want to make sure the carrier oils being used are not "filler oils" like corn, olive, sesame, vegetable, and glycerin as the health benefits are minimal in these oils. These types of "filler oils" are inexpensive and a cheap to make and should not be something you want on your skin and hair. The essential oils are considered Aromatherapy oils and are highly concentrated aromatic essences of plants.
What is the best method for applying beard oil?
- Put a few drops in the palm of your hand, roughly about the size of a dime
- Rub your hands together to spread the oil
- Work into your beard and face, for longer beards focus your attention on the length and especially the ends of the hair.
- Go forth and be manly.
